My interest in designing and making jewellery began in my later school years. After leaving education at sixteen I was fortunate enough to begin work at a small family owned jewellery business where I learned the repairing and fabrication of both gold and silver jewellery, under the watchful and ever critical eye of the workshop manager, who made sure anything and everything that left the department was up to his exacting standards. 

Nearly fifty years on and with a bit more experience under my belt I'm still at my happiest sat at the bench in my home workshop either repairing, working on commissions or teaching others this fascinating and absorbing craft.

Whenever I complete a piece of jewellery I can still hear the words of my mentor 'there is no such thing as near enough or good enough. Only perfection leaves the workshop'.
